To hone the leadership skills of the newly elected officers of the Western Institute of Technology (WIT) - Senior High School (SHS) Student Council, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Brgy. Bugnay, Jordan, Guimaras spearheaded a Commitment-Building Activity held virtually on Tuesday, August 31.
With the "#KamiNaman: Empowered Youth Leaders in Action" Activity, SK Bugnay shared tips and techniques for the WITSHS Student Council officers to become more effective leaders.

The activity started with a leadership talk by Hon. John P. Janolino, SK Chairman from Guimaras, who emphasized that โgreat power comes great responsibility,โ. He further stated that a leader is someone who can influenced others to be leaders. Aside from that, he also mentioned the different traits that make exceptional leaders.
Sharing the SK Officers' experiences and insights on their leadership journey, they also tackled the qualities of an outstanding student leader. They mentioned that being a leader in the midst of the pandemic is really hard but if you have the strong will to serve and lead, the odds will definitely be on your favor.
"On teamwork, you play for the name on the front, not the name on the back," stated Hon. Amelia Fe Adin, SK Federation President from Guimaras. She also added that the student council officers should build their relationships with one another because leaders are stronger together.
Throughout the activity, the WITSHS Student Council was all ears on the speakers and had joined the games and activities prepared by them. The officers then extended their gratitude to the speakers after the activity concluded. With everything that the new Student Council officers learned from the program, they are now more ready to take on the challenges of the academic year.
